Vol. 374 No. 2

Written Answers. - Kilcock (County Kildare) Primary School.

81.

asked the Minister for Education if there have been any unforeseen delays in regard to the provision of extra facilities at Kilcock girls' primary school, County Kildare; her present intentions with regard to the provision of facilities; if there have been any changes regarding the estimated requirements of facilities; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The proposed extension scheme for Kilcock girls' national school, County Kildare, has been listed for preparation of working drawings, which would in due course form part of the tender documentation for the project. It will not, however, be possible to advance this project further at present because of pressure on my Department's capital provision.

The Deputy is understood to refer in the latter part of his question to the school authorities' application to my Department for grant-aid towards the cost of facilities over and above what would normally be provided in a school of the size in question. The authorities have been informed that grants will not be available for such additional facilities. No objection would, however, be raised to extra features being provided at their own expense.
