Vol. 374 No. 2

Written Answers. - Ashbourne (County Meath) School.

82.

asked the Minister for Education when she proposes to hold a meeting with Meath County Council to settle outstanding issues in regard to the second level school in Asbbourne, County Meath, in order that building can commence.

Details of the location and of the architectural planning of the proposed second level school for Ashbourne have been the subject of ongoing consultations by my Department and its design team with Meath County Council. A meeting has been arranged by my Department with officials from the county council for next week to deal with certain aspects of the school including the implication for the school development of the county council's proposals for a bypass road for Ashbourne. The matter was discussed on the Adjournment on 14 October, 1987.

The rate at which this project, as well as all other capital projects, may proceed is now being examined by my Department in the light of the recently announced capital allocation for 1988.
