Vol. 374 No. 5

Written Answers. - State Boards Members' Remuneration.

57.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the level of remuneration of the non-executive directors of boards, companies or agencies under his control which was first set; when these levels were set; if they have ever been revised in line with inflation or with the level of remunerations of non-executive directors of private sector entities of similar size and responsibilities.

The Combat Poverty Agency, which was established in September 1986, is the only State-sponsored body under the aegis of my Department. The agency was set up on a statutory basis under the Combat Poverty Agency Act, 1986 and this Act specifically precludes the remuneration of any person for acting as a member of the agency.
