asked the Minister for the Environment the amount of domestic and household charges imposed by each county council, county borough council and urban district council for each of the years 1984 to 1987 inclusive, and the receipts on foot of such charges for each such local authority in respect of the said years.

In so far as the 1984 information is concerned aggregate amounts for the different charges and receipts only are available. In connection with the amount of charge I refer the Deputy to the reply to Question Number 69 of 12 February 1986 (Dáil Debates, Vol. 363 No. 11 col. 2408).
For details of 1986 and also for the charges imposed for 1987 I refer the Deputy to Question Number 181 of 24 June, 1987 (Dáil Debates, Vol. 373 No. 13 col. 3430).
One addition in relation to 1987 is that Drogheda Corporation have a domestic water charge of £35 levied for 1987 for services provided to houses both within and outside the urban boundary. Information on receipts in respect of 1987 will only be available in 1988.
Details of the receipts for 1984, and amount of charge and receipts for 1985, in so far as these are separately supplied in local authority returns, are included in the following tabular statement.
