Vol. 374 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

77.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £5,000 surrender grant payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Confirmation that the applicant has complied with the conditions of the scheme has been received and the grant will be paid shortly.

78.

asked the Minister for the Environment if approval for a pre-1940 house improvement grant application will issue to persons (details supplied) in County Wexford; if so when, and the amount of the grant to be paid.

A pre-1940 dwelling grant of £4,687 has been approved.

79.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will allocate a grant for repair work to Carhan Bridge in Cahirciveen, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The bridge involved is on the national secondary road N70. Responsibility for the maintenance of the bridge, including the development of any proposals for its repair, is a matter, in the first instance, for Kerry County Council. I am not aware of any concern on the part of the local authority about the structural condition of the bridge.
