Vol. 374 No. 9

Written Answers. - Shannon Town Road Plan.

139.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the provision if any, which has been made in the 1988 Estimates for the new road plan for Shannon Town centre, County Clare; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The proposed traffic management scheme for Shannon Town centre will include improvements to the two N19 junctions at the town centre, including the replacement of the existing traffic signals. The estimated cost of these improvements is £104,000. The county council's design proposals for these improvements were approved by the Department on 23 June 1987. A grant allocation of £40,000 has been made for the scheme in 1987.
