175.

asked the Minister for Health the total cost to his Department of the Conference on Health Policy held recently in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin 9; the cost of catering arising from the conference; and the total cost of alcohol supplied to the participants.

The total cost of this two-day Conference on Health Policy, which was attended by more than 350 delegates on each day, was as follows: Catering, £5,005.00; Reception (one hour) (alcohol, soft drinks etc.) (held on evening of 20 October), £1,531.25; Total £6,536.25.

No other costs were incurred since the organisation and running of the conference was carried out by officers of the Department as part of their normal duties and facilities at Beaumont Hospital were already available.
