Vol. 374 No. 9

Written Answers. - Tallaght, Dublin, New School.

45.

asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement regarding the information which was given to the deputation of parents, teachers and the Fianna Fáil Deputies for Dublin South West regarding the provision of the Jobstown Community College at Jobstown, Tallaght, Dublin 24.

208.

asked the Minister for Education the progress, if any, made by her Department towards the provision of a post-primary school in the Jobstown area of Tallaght, Dublin 24; and if the necessary funds were provided in the Book of Estimates, 1988 (Abridged Version).

I propose to take Questions Nos. 45 and 208 together.

I stated in Dáil Éireann on 11 June last that a deputation which I had received was informed of the position at that time in regard to the building project, the stage which architectural planning had reached, the costs incurred and the difficulties being encountered regarding access to the site. There have been further negotiations in the intervening period but these have not yet concluded. It will be appreciated that it would not be appropriate for me to divulge specific information while these negotiations are in progress.

Global provision only is made under the relevant subhead of the Estimates for the capital requirements of the second level sector.
