Vol. 375 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowance for Disabled Persons.

66.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will introduce a special tax free allowance for disabled persons at work; in view of the extra travel and clothing expenses that are involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I do not believe that income tax reliefs are an appropriate means of providing aid to those disabled persons who need it. Accordingly, I do not propose to introduce a tax-free allowance as suggested by the Deputy.
