I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioner that the taxpayer applied for a refund of income tax on 2 April 1987. A cheque in settlement was issued to him on 10 April and the records show that the cheque in question was cashed on 23 April 1987.
The collector-general is in communication with the taxpayer in the matter.
