Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in payment of a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Louth; and when payment will be made.

It was necessary to obtain further clarification in relation to the carrying out of works approved. The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in having a final inspection for a new house grant carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Waterford and the steps, if any, he will take to ensure that the inspection is carried out immediately.

There has been no undue delay. An inspection with a view to payment of the £2,000 grant will be carried out as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and when payment of same will issue.

Payment of the £2,250 grant will be made to the builder of the house in two equal instalments in due course, in accordance with the conditions of the scheme.

asked the Minister for the Environment when payment of a new house grant and mortgage subsidy will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

The new house grant (£1,000) and the first two instalments of the mortgage subsidy (£1,800) have been paid.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Waterford is entitled to payment of a mortgage subsidy; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Approval to the mortgage subsidy issued on 13 July, 1983. Payment will be made when the applicant submits the claim form, duly completed and certified by the relevant lending agency.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a new house grant for persons (details supplied) in County Wexford will be reconsidered for approval in view of the fact that the applicants were advised that if all their subcontractors were registered they would be eligible for a grant; and if he will clarify the regulations for the scheme.

It is a condition of the eligibility grant that the value of work undertaken by a contractor (s) registered for VAT must not be less than £15,000. More than one such contractor can contribute to that £15,000 minimum. A decision to allow a grant must await the receipt of additional documentation requested from the applicant.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.
