Vol. 375 No. 1

Written Answers. - Sale of Cork Flats.

139.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction Cork Corporation to sell the flats in Cork to the tenants of same under the tenantpurchase scheme; if he will give details of any information available concerning the possible sale of these flats; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Flats have been included in recent schemes for the sale of local authority dwellings but there are certain practical difficulties in completing sales of flats. A working party, representative of local authorities and the Department, has been examining ways of resolving these problems and is awaiting the completion of a survey of tenants' attitudes to the purchase of flats. As soon as the survey results are available, the working party will be in a position to complete their report. When this report is available, the matter will be considered further.
