Vol. 375 No. 6

Written Answers. - British Remand Centre Conditions.

72.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a person (details supplied) in Risley Remand Centre was denied her daily exercise of one hour per day on 17 occasions out of 31 days in October this year; if he will ask British authorities for an explanation in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have had inquiries made about the matter the Deputy refers to. The British authorities are, however, unable to respond to our inquiries on this matter as the person concerned has not consented to any comment being made on her conditions of remand.
