Vol. 375 No. 6

Written Answers. - Office Premises Expenses.

61.

asked the Minister for Energy the reason for an allocation of £211,000 for office premises expenses in his Department's 1988 Estimate; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The allocation of £211,000, provided for under Subhead B.3. of the Energy Vote for 1988 will be to cover expenditure on office cleaning and security which heretofore, had been provided under Subhead B.1. of that Vote and on requirements such as office furnishings, fuel and light which heretofore had been provided for under the Vote for the Office of Public Works. This change followed a review of the functions of that Office as a result of which it was decided that individual Departments would pay for these services.
