Vol. 375 No. 7

Written Answers. - National Teachers' Panel Rights.

118.

asked the Minister for Education the number of national teachers in each county who have been contacted by her Department since 1 October 1987 in connection with their panel rights.

A total of 1,642 national teachers (and the boards of management of the schools in which they teach) have been written to by my Department indicating that, on the basis of this year's average enrolments to date in their schools, their posts will be surplus from 1 January 1988, if enrolments are also below the minimum required for the quarter ended 31 December 1987.

This information is not currently available broken down by county but I will arrange to make it available to the Deputy on that basis as soon as possible.
