The national lottery is now expected to realise a profit of £35 million in 1987 and £36.5 million in 1988, a total of £71.5 million over the two years.
This has been allocated to the following areas: £35.05 million for sport, youth, recreation and amenities, £15.65 million for arts and culture and the Irish language, £10.1 million for projects in the health area, and £0.7 million for projects associated with the Dublin Millennium.
A sum of £10 million has been held in reserve for contingencies.
