Vol. 376 No. 7

Written Answers. - Kells (Meath) New Garda Station.

41.

asked the Minister for Finance when a contract will be placed for the building of a new Garda station in Kells, County Meath; the estimated cost of this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Detailed planning on the erection of a new Garda station at Kells, County Meath, will proceed as soon as the results of an archaeological dig at present being undertaken on the site are known which is expected to be early in 1988. It is hoped to have the project which is estimated to cost in the region of £650,000 ready for invitation of tenders towards the end of 1988 with a view to placing a contract early the following year, subject to adequate funds being available at that time.
