Vol. 377 No. 1

Written Answers. - Killinarden (Tallaght) School.

313.

asked the Minister for Education if she has received representations from the Killinarden community school, Tallaght, Dublin 24 regarding the provision of a sports hall for this school; and having regard to the representations made, if she will make a statement on the matter.

332.

asked the Minister for Education if it is her intention to provide a sports hall for Killinarden community school, Killinarden, Tallaght, Dublin 24, given that this is the only post-primary school in the Tallaght area that does not have one and that the school is situated in an extremely disadvantaged area where the level of unemployment is one of the highest in the country.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 313 and 332 together.

I confirm that representations have been received in respect of this project. The position is that a physcial education hall has been approved for this school and it is intended that it will be constructed to a standard plan prepared by my Department's consultants. This plan, which has been revised to incorporate certain improvements, will, I understand be resubmitted shortly to the Department's Building Unit.

The rate at which this project may proceed will depend upon the availability of capital resources and my Department's other commitments and priorities.
