Vol. 377 No. 2

Written Answers. - Dublin Hospital.

88.

asked the Minister for Health if he will give details of the present position in relation to Cherry Orchard Hospital, Dublin 10; the plans for its future including any changes or developments in its role; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Cherry Orchard Hospital is managed by the Eastern Health Board and is the designated centre for the treatment of certain communicable diseases.

The future role of this hospital is a matter for the Eastern Health Board in the first instance. I understand that the board are at present considering the rationalisation of facilities for the treatment of infectious and respiratory disease within its area with a view to the concentration of services at Cherry Orchard Hospital.
