Vol. 377 No. 4

Written Answers. - Dunleer By-pass.

22.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the continued delay in commencing the work on the Dunleer by-pass County Louth; when sanction will be given; the up-dated cost; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Dunleer by-pass motorway scheme was approved in August 1986. The timing of construction on the scheme is being considered in the context of the preparation of the Blueprint for Road Development which I propose to publish within the next few months. The cost of the Dunleer by-pass is currently estimated at £20 million. To date, road grant allocations totalling £0.933 million have been made in respect of pre-construction costs.
