asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in commencing work on the proposed extension to St. Colman's national school, Cummer, Tuam, County Galway in view of the fact that the management board lodged the local contribution in August 1987 as requested by the Department who stated at the time that the contract would be placed shortly after; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The question of placing a contract for the building of an extension to the school referred to otherwise known as St. Colman's national school, Corofin, is being considered in the light of my Department's 1988 capital allocation for the national schools building programme. A decision will be conveyed to the school authorities as soon as possible.
