asked the Minister for Health if he will give details of all hospitals closed or to be closed since 1st March, 1987.

asked the Minister for Health the number of hospitals and beds which have closed since he took office.

I proposed to take Questions Nos. 192 and 195 together.

The following hospitals with the bed complements set out below have closed since March 1987:

The following hospitals are due to close: Barringtons Hospital, Limerick; Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital, Dublin; St. Mary's Geriatric Hospital, Drogheda; Cork Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital.

Information on bed closures in hospitals which have remained open is presently being updated and will be forwarded to the Deputies as soon as it is available.
