Vol. 377 No. 6

Written Answers - Clare County Hospital.

61.

asked the Minister for Health if he will provide adequate funding to the Mid-Western Health Board to enable Clare County Hospital, Ennis, County clare to continue to function as effectively as heretofore.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply of Wednesday, 3 February last to Deputy Carey. In that reply I indicated that the level of funding available to the Mid-Western Health Board in 1988 is sufficient to ensure the continuation of an effective and efficient health service. Accordingly, I do not propose to make additional funds available to the board in the current year. I further indicated in my reply to Deputy Carey that any decisions on the precise distribution of the 1988 allocation of £70.130 million are a matter for the Mid-Western Health Board.
