Vol. 377 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

174.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be paid a new house grant.

Information provided by the applicant suggests that work on the construction of the house commenced before the introduction of the present scheme of grants in 1977; accordingly, a grant cannot be allowed.

175.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and when payment of same will issue.

There has been no undue delay. Following the receipt of notification that outstanding works have been completed, an inspection, with a view to payment of the grant will be carried out as soon as possible.

177.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding the application for a new house grant for persons (details supplied) in County Tipperary.

A grant cannot be allowed as, contrary to a statutory condition of the scheme, the applicant had previously purchased a house.

178.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether an application for a house improvement grant for persons (details supplied) in County Cork will be accepted.

A grant cannot be allowed as an inspection had not been carried out on or before 27 March 1987. Also, the house is apparently not being used as a residence on a full time basis but is, in fact, a holiday home.
