Vol. 378 No. 3

Written Answers. - Nurses Superannuation Reciprocity.

128.

asked the Minister for Health the reason Irish nurses who were trained in England cannot credit their training years for pension purposes in Ireland whereas Irish trained nurses have this facility available to them; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There are no arrangements with the United Kingdom or with any other country for reciprocity in matters relating to superannuation.

It is a feature of public pension schemes generally that service given outside the State does not reckon for superannuation purposes.
