Vol. 379 No. 1

Written Answers. - Blarney, Cork, School.

198.

asked the Minister for Education if it is her intention to proceed immediately with the erection of a woodwork room at Scoil Mhuire gan Smál, Blarney, County Cork; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that this school is the only second level school in the Blarney area; and that, this being so, it is a co-educational school and caters for all levels of ability; in all these circumstances if she will acknowledge its legitimate demand for the inclusion of woodwork in its curriculum and the provision of a suitable room to make that possible.

205.

asked the Minister for Education when she will be in a position to sanction the finance for an approved extension to Scoil Mhuire gan Smál. Blarney, County Cork.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 198 and 205 together.

My Department has approved the provision of an extension, which incorporates a woodwork room, at Scoil Mhuire gan Smál. However, the rate at which this project can proceed is dependent on the availability of capital resources and on my Department's priorities and commitments.

199.

asked the Minister for Education when repairs to Ringaskiddy national school, County Cork, will be carried out, and if she will make a statement on the matter.

My Department has not received a request for grant-aid for any proposals from the authorities of Ringaskiddy national school, County Cork.
