My Department are agreeable in principle to grant-aid a permanent extension to Scoil Íde Naofa, Kilmeade, Athy, County Kildare. However, because of the pressure on the capital available to my Department for the national schools building programme, it will not be possible to advance the architectural planning of the project further at present. In the meantime, my Department have grant-aided improvements to the school's existing accommodation, including the provision of replacement prefabricated classroom accommodation.
