asked the Minister for Health if he will provide data on the numbers of patients on which the following procedures were carried out in each of the years 1984 to 1987 inclusive (1) heart transplants (2) pacemakers fitted (3) heart valve replacements (4) kidney transplants (5) hip replacements (6) haemodialysis courses — distinguishing between hospital and home; the cost per procedure of the above list; the proportion of patients who are covered by VHI for each procedure; and if he will outline the planned levels of future activity for each of these procedures.
