asked the Minister for the Environment the total number of contributors to the Rathcoffey group water supply scheme, County Kildare; the present position regarding progress on the scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Mount Armstrong/Rathcoffey group water scheme is dependent on the construction by Kildare County Council of a reservoir at Kilcock. Work is currently being carried out on the reservoir and it is expected that it will be completed in May 1988. It is not yet known how many houses will take a supply from the scheme.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding progress on the Kilmeade group water supply scheme in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In view of the proposed public scheme development in the area, the design for this group scheme will require certain changes. My Department have discussed the position in this regard with the group and will contact them again shortly in the matter.
