asked the Taoiseach (a) the annual (i) birth rates (ii) death rates and (iii) emigration rates in the Republic of Ireland since 1977 (b) the number of people who were employed in the State each year since 1977 (c) the employment figures for the following towns in south-west Cork during 1985, 1986 and 1987: Bandon, Clonakilty, Skibbereen, Dunmanway, Bantry and Castletownbere and (d) the emigration rates for the same years for the above towns.

The following table gives the information sought at (a) and (b) of the question. Since employment and emigration figures are not compiled for individual towns the information sought at (c) and (d) is not available.
