asked the Minister for Education the number of new all-Irish primary schools which have been set up in the country over the past six years; their locations; and the plans she has to encourage an increase in such schools.
Written Answers. - All-Irish Primary Schools.
Between the years 1982 and 1987, 29 new all-Irish primary schools were established. I shall arrange to have a list of their locations circulated with the Official Report.
My Department will continue to facilitate the establishment of all-Irish schools by meeting the full cost of school sites and building costs, paying higher capitation grant and maintaining a more favourable pupil/teacher ratio in these schools.
