Vol. 380 No. 6

Written Answers. - Representations from TD.

57.

asked the Minister for Justice the reason, despite continuous representation from Mr. Gay Mitchell, TD, to the Garda Commissioner for over 12 months regarding the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12, a final reply has not issued to the Deputy despite being told on 25 February 1988 by letter that the result of inquiries would be issued in the near future; and if a final reply will issue immediately.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the initial complaint in this case was investigated and both the Deputy and the person concerned were informed of the outcome. An additional complaint in the matter was received subsequently and the Garda undertook a further investigation. I am informed that they hope to have this investigation completed within the next two weeks or so and that they will then inform the Deputy of the outcome.
