Vol. 380 No. 6

Written Answers. - Midland Health Board Appointment.

82.

asked the Minister for Health if it is planned to appoint an additional orthopaedic surgeon to the Midland Health Board area; and, if so, the likely date of such an appointment.

There are already two consultant orthopaedic surgeons employed by the Midland Health Board at Tullamore General Hospital. I have not received any proposals to appoint an additional orthopaedic surgeon at the hospital. I would point out that such an appointment would be a matter in the first instance for the Midland Health Board and would be subject to the approval of Comhairle na nOspidéal.
