Written Answers. - Diagnostic Services.

155.

asked the Minister for Health if he will list the diseases, defects or conditions prescribed under section 70 of the 1970 Health Act, in respect of which health boards are required to make arrangements for the carrying out of tests without charge.

While no diseases, defects or conditions have been prescribed under section 70 of the Health Act, 1970, health boards are required to provide or make available diagnostic services without charge under a number of other provisions of the Health Acts 1947 to 1987. Such provisions include services for the diagnosis of infectious diseases, services in respect of a range of children's conditions and defects and all diagnostic services in respect of persons with full eligibility and their dependants regardless of condition, disease or defect.
