Seven officials accompanied me as the official party on my recent visit to the United States to deal as advisers with issues being covered during the course of the visit including Northern Ireland, immigration, taxation, financial services, trade, industrial development, tourism and Irish-American relations. The costs of the visit which were considered to be appropriate to be charged to the Exchequer were approximately £31,000.
