Vol. 380 No. 7

Written Answers. - Interest on Over-Paid Tax.

48.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will confirm that interest on tax overpaid by a person (details supplied) in Dublin 24 is due; that arrangements are being made for the payment of such interest on over-paid tax in view of the financial need of this person; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that there are no provisions in the Income Tax Acts which would allow for the payment of interest to be made to the taxpayer in this particular case.
