A leaflet produced by the Department gives detailed information on entitlements under the supplementary welfare allowance scheme. It is available from the Information Offices of the Department in Dublin and around the country and from the health boards.
The guidelines referred to by the Deputy were issued to all health boards at the time of the introduction of the scheme. The guidelines have been supplemented by circular letters from time to time to deal with new developments. I am having the guidelines revised and updated at present.
The guidelines are intended for the internal use of health boards and are not appropriate for publication. I intend however to have a greater range of leaflets on various aspects of the scheme produced according as the present guidelines are revised and updated.
