Vol. 380 No. 7

Written Answers. - Housing Finance Agency Loan Schemes.

96.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has any proposals to make changes in the present Housing Finance Agency loan schemes for prospective purchasers; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The publicly funded housing loan schemes are closely monitored to ensure that they are operating satisfactorily. I have no proposals at this stage to change the schemes.

I would remind the Deputy that all publicly funded housing loans, including income-related and convertible loans, have been the responsibility of the local authorities since 1 July 1986.
