Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

101.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a mortgage subsidy application has been rejected in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Cork having regard to the fact that the contract was signed before the announcement in relation to the termination of this scheme.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a mortgage subsidy from the person named at the address given.

102.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason the original house improvement grant passed for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny has been reduced; if he will arrange to have the full amount of grant previously approved paid to him; and if he will arrange early payment.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 70 of 10 February 1988, indicating that the applicant was eligible for a pre-1940 repair grant only; to take account of additional works carried out the amount of the latter grant has been revised to the maximum of £5,000 and payment will be made as soon as possible.

The grant will be paid as soon as possible.
