Vol. 380 No. 9

Written Answers. - Victim Support Association.

15.

asked the Minister for Justice if he has any proposals to meet with the Irish Association for Victim Support to discuss ways of providing them with adequate funding on an annual basis.

At the request of the association I met with its representatives on 1 July 1987 to discuss, inter alia, the question of funding. I explained that while I would like to be in a position to make a bigger grant available to the association, the overall budgetary position prevented me from doing so. That remains the position.

Should the association request to meet with me again I will, of course, give the request due consideration.
