Last month I announced certain organisational changes in the Garda Síochána at headquarters level and in the Dublin Metropolitan Area. I also indicated that Garda structures in the rest of the country would be examined. The question of the creation of any special new units outside Dublin would not, of course, arise pending the completion of that examination.
