asked the Minister for Justice the plans, if any, he has to curtail the sale of dangerous weapons such as stun guns, sling shots and crossbows and follow the example of some European countries who have banned the total sale of such weapons; or, alternatively, that an age limit for the sale of these weapons be introduced.

I share the concern of the Deputy and that of other Deputies in relation to this matter. I will shortly be seeking the approval of the Government to proposals to control the availability and use of offensive weapons of the nature referred to.
