Vol. 380 No. 10

Written Answers. - Disabled Person's Maintenance Allowance.

159.

asked the Minister for Health when a disabled person's maintenance allowance will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The payment of disabled person's maintenance allowance in any individual case is a matter for determination by the health board concerned, having regard to all the relevant circumstances in that case. I had inquiries made of the South Eastern Health Board and have been informed that the person in question applied to the board for a disabled person's maintenance allowance on 1 July 1987. On 11 August 1987 the board wrote to the applicant seeking further information in order to assist with their assessment of his means. To date, this information has not been submitted. On receipt of the information, the Board will process his application without delay.
