Vol. 380 No. 10

Written Answers. - Meath School Grant Payments.

177.

asked the Minister for Education the reason her Department refuse to pay two grants which were verbally approved by personnel in the Office of Public Works to the chairman of the board of management of a school (details supplied) in County Meath; if a decision will be made to pay the money; and, if so, when.

My Department is prepared to grant-aid the works at the school referred to by the Deputy and is awaiting a report in the matter from its professional advisers in the district office of the Office of Public Works. I have asked that this report be expedited and subject to the works being satisfactorily completed the normal grants will be paid to the school authorities at an early date.
