Vol. 380 No. 10

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funds.

47.

asked the Minister for Finance the total amount of funding received by the Government from the national lottery for redistribution to various projects throughout the country; and the amounts allocated by his Department from national lottery funds in each county to date.

The national lottery surplus is taken into the Exchequer as needed for spending on approved programmes. There was £10.9 million transferred to the Exchequer in 1987 and £13.3 million has been transferred to the Exchequer to date in 1988.

The amount allocated by Government for 1987 and 1988 is £71.434 million on the basis of the anticipated surplus for both of these years.

There has been £1.8 million allocated to the Office of Public Works, for which I have responsibility, for works at five historical buildings in Dublin.
