Vol. 380 No. 10

Written Answers. - Tax Rebate.

48.

asked the Minister for Finance if the amount of money paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick represents all moneys owed to this person by way of an income tax rebate; and, if not, when the remainder of the rebate will be paid.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that the taxpayer's claim for repayment of tax on the grounds of unemployment was dealt with by way of a review of his liability to tax for 1987-88. A cheque in settlement of the repayment due was issued on 24 April 1988. As the tax retained represents the taxpayer's liability to tax for 1987-88 there is no further refund due for that year.
