Vol. 380 No. 10

Written Answers. - County Wexford Garda Barracks.

49.

asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the Garda barracks at Carrig-on-Bannow, County Wexford is uninhabited; that it was built only ten years ago; that the surrounds are very untidy and need immediate attention particularly since the local tidy towns group are doing their utmost to keep the village neat; if he will instruct the Office of Public Works to tidy the surrounds and keep it in good order; if it is his intention that this building will be used for accommodation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Commissioners of Public Works are aware of the position at the Garda barracks, Carrig-on-Bannow.

The Commissioners propose to carry out remedial works in the near future. The question of the future use of the married quarters is under active consideration by the Department of Justice and their advice in the matter is awaited.
