asked the Minister for Social Welfare the amounts allocated by his Department from national lottery funds in each county to date.

In the 1988 Estimates the Government allocated £750,000 from national lottery funds for voluntary organisations in the social services area. Following consultation with the health boards and consideration of the social services projects for which help was sought, to date grants have been allocated to organisations in the following counties:-

In addition a special grant of £100,000 was made to the Society of St. Vincent De Paul to provide courses in home management and personal development. Over 5,000 people will benefit from these courses which will be held in most counties throughout the country.
