I understand that, on the basis of information provided by the State industrial promotion agencies, approximately 16,000 jobs were created in manufacturing industry, including international services, in 1987. A limited sample survey carried out by the agencies estimated that approximately 4,000 new jobs were created in the first quarter of 1988.
