Vol. 381 No. 2

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funds.

49.

asked the Minister for Health if, having regard to the tremendous work undertaken by the Irish Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, he will offer that body a grant from the proceeds of the national lottery in order to allow the association to continue and expand its services; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have on hands a very considerable number of applications from voluntary agencies for assistance from the Health allocation of national lottery proceeds including a request from the Irish Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. I expect to be in a position to reach a decision regarding the balance of the Health allocation of national lottery proceeds in the near future and the successful agencies will be notified immediately at that stage.

asked the Minister for Health if he has approved a grant from the national lottery funds for a project (details supplied) in County Offaly.

I have on hands a considerable number of applications from voluntary agencies for assistance from national lottery proceeds including one for this project. I expect in the near future to be in a position to reach a decision regarding the balance of the lottery proceeds available to me and the successful agencies will be notified immediately at that stage.
